Who is responsible for tackling anti-social behaviour in Poole?

A number of organisations have a responsibility for tackling anti-social behaviour and were primarily brought together by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 into a Community Safety Partnership which in Poole is called the Safer Poole Partnership. The main partners who work daily to tackle anti-social behaviour and support victims are the Borough of Poole, Dorset Police, Poole Housing Partnership, housing associations and Youth Offending Service.  No one organisation can tackle anti-social behaviour on its own, we must work together in a coordinated approach, share information and ensure timely action is taken to support and protect vulnerable victims and bring offenders to justice.
The council’s Safer Communities Team has Anti-Social Behaviour Officers who are responsible for investigating complaints of anti-social behaviour referred to them by residents, businesses, visitors and our partners.  The Anti-Social Behaviour Officers work in particular geographic areas of Poole so they can build relationships with their communities and Dorset Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Teams.  The team also has a Victim Support Officer who offers emotional and practical support to vulnerable, repeat and high risk victims of anti-social behaviour after a referral from practitioners.
