Opportunities for young people

If you would like to get involved in volunteering but are struggling to find a volunteering placement, or do not know where to start then we can help.

You can find out about what:

  • would be expected of you as a volunteer
  • you should expect of a placement
  • current opportunities are available
  • support we can offer you

Volunteering with children and young people training course

Are you interested in volunteering in a youth project, thinking about a career in youth work, working with children and young people or are you already volunteering at a youth club or project?

Then this four week training course is for you and will include:

  • what is youth work
  • communications skills
  • coping with challenging situations
  • risk assessment and health and safety
  • safeguarding
  • planning and delivering activities

Courses are based at Broadstone Youth Centre, Moor Road, Broadstone, BH18 8AZ and are free to those volunteering or interested in becoming a volunteer within Poole.
