Culture Volunteers Poole

Volunteering at Poole Museum, Poole Arts Development and Poole Libraries

Culture Volunteers Poole are a small, dedicated team providing a volunteering programme of cultural opportunities to help make our cultural services  excellent.

We have various opportunities in the Arts, Museums and Libraries in Poole for you to get involved in. These opportunities can be one-off events such as festival stewarding or events assistants, or can be on a more regular basis such as weekly digitizing and archiving, or monthly assistance with social media and newsletters.

We don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach so if you have specific skills or ideas, please tell us about them, and we may be able to create a role to suit you.

Use our online form to sign up to volunteer.

Walk Leader

Numerous locations around Poole including Poole Park, Upton Country Park, Broadstone, Canford Heath

Volunteer walk leaders are required to lead walks within the Poole Healthy Walks Scheme. The Poole Healthy Walks Scheme offers short, free weekly walks led by trained volunteers each week and plays a vital role in assisting people to take frequent light exercise each week as part of a supportive and sociable group.

Volunteer leaders will be required to attend a free one training course and will then be asked to assist or lead the delivery of a weekly walk. If you have an hour or two that you can spare each week to help others to remain active we would love to hear from you

All walks are between 1-2 miles in length and take place on firm level ground with parking available to ensure that the walks are accessible to people with a disability. The only exception is a monthly nature walk that takes place on Canford Heath.

Museum Visitor Survey Volunteer

Poole Museum, 4 High Street, Poole, BH15 1BW

Poole Museum is seeking enthusiastic and people-orientated volunteers to assist them in surveying museum visitors using bespoke iPad minis. These surveys are part on an initiative by the Arts Council to enable a regional review measuring the impact of museums and develop audiences.

Flexible shifts during museum opening hours.

Computer Buddies - Ongoing Opportunity

Computer Buddies wanted in libraries across the Borough, this is the perfect opportunity to share your skills and pick up new ones.

Do you know a bit about computers? Do you like helping others learn and do you have a fair amount of patience? We all learn in different ways and Poole Libraries like to offer different ways of helping people learn how to use a computer. Computer buddies provide help either in drop-in sessions or in one-to-one sessions for people who are a little bit beyond the absolute beginner stage.  If you have a real desire to help people learn then do get in touch now!
