Celebrate World Book Night

Hamworthy Library in Blandford Road will be hosting a celebration party on Tuesday 23 April to mark World Book Night.

Starting at 7pm the party will kick off with four Dorset authors discussing their favourite books. Elizabeth McGregor (who also writes as Elizabeth Cooke and Holly Fox), Pamela Fudge, Eve Bonham and Noel Lockyer-Stevens will be sharing their passion for reading and enticing us to share this passion too.

The evening will continue with a quiz and refreshments and many other readers will be present to share your best reads with. The library will also be open so you can borrow lots of free books that you haven’t yet read.

Councillor Judy Butt, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Public Engagement and Participation, Borough of Poole, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the world of books and we hope as many people as possible come along and take part. World Book Night is all about the exciting, funny, suspenseful, thoughtful, amazing world of books and reading. So whether you are an avid book reader or haven’t picked up a book since you left school come along and join us and see what your local library has to offer."
