Get Green Fingers With Poole's Green Bins

With the sun finally starting to shine it's time to get out into your garden, so why not register for Poole's garden waste collection service.

So far nearly 20,500 residents have registered for this year's service, taking advantage of fortnightly kerbside garden waste collections right through the summer until the end of November.

It's not too late to register for the garden waste collection service. The service costs £31 per year and if you register now we'll deliver your green bin within a fortnight of receiving your payment.

If your garden isn't very big but you still have grass cuttings and hedge trimmings to dispose of why not consider sharing a green bin with your neighbour, or alternatively, compost at home. Subsidised compost bins are available from boroughofpoole.com/compost or call 0844 571 4444. A 220 litre compost bin is only £6 plus £5.49 delivery and if you buy one you can get another one half price.

Cllr Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Borough of Poole, said: "This year's garden waste collection service has proven even more popular which shows how committed Poole's residents are to diverting waste from landfill and helping to both save money and reduce Poole's carbon footprint. It really does make a difference when people use this scheme and we would welcome any new people who wish to register for this year."
