Supporting Businesses in Poole

Fledgling companies in Poole can now benefit from easier access to helpful information and guidance following the launch of a new Business Support and Advice brochure.

The brochure is an invaluable guide for new companies, bringing together in one single document all business support services available from the council and other public sector providers.

Produced by Borough of Poole's Economic Development team, the brochure's two main sections cover starting and growing a business and locating in Poole. The first section provides useful information on licensing and registrations, business start-up training and information, business finance and funding, networking opportunities and skills and training. The second section covers commercial property search, information on Poole as an attractive location to do business, key economic data, information on the Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership and useful websites.

Councillor Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, said: "It’s a great document and will be a huge benefit to people considering setting up their own businesses and new businesses looking for some help and advice. It covers an array of useful information and provides details of funding opportunities for employing apprentices, young people, and for new initiatives."

The brochure is available on boroughofpoole.com/businessadvice Alternatively a limited number of printed brochures are available in the council's Planning & Regeneration reception area.
