A Gold Star For Poole Libraries

Isaac Baldwin has become Poole libraries’ first Bookstart Bear Club gold certificate winner.

With over 450 members in The Bookstart Bear Club since its launch last November, Poole libraries and Bookstart celebrated Isaac’s achievement by presenting him with a special certificate and some books to keep.
The Bookstart Bear Club is available to all pre-school children using Poole libraries and is free to join.  Children receive paw prints in a passport every time they visit the library.  After six paw prints they receive a certificate, with ten certificates to collect, the final one having a special gold design.

Councillor Judy Butt, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Public Engagement and Participation, with responsibility for libraries, Borough of Poole, said: "Congratulations to Isaac.  The Bookstart Bear Club has proved to be a wonderful way of engaging very young children with stories, books and rhymes in our libraries and at home."

Patricia Courage, Poole libraries’ Bookstart Coordinator, Borough of Poole, said: "Isaac and his mum love sharing books together, so it was a pleasure to present him with yet more for them to enjoy."
