Change of operator for the Rossmore Flyer

The Parkstone and Rossmore Flyer bus service will have a new operator from Saturday 12 October 2013.

The popular route, also known as the 'Monkeys Hump and Heavenly Bottom Express', will now be run by Damory Coaches.

The service, supported by Borough of Poole, provides an hourly link from Alderney, Rossmore, Bourne Estate and Penn Hill to shops and services along Ashley Road, Upper Parkstone, carrying more than  40,000 passengers each year.

Damory Coaches will take over the service from Dolphin Coaches who have operated the service since April 2010.

Nick Phillips, Accessibility Team Leader, Borough of Poole, said: "A replacement contract has been awarded to Damory Coaches to continue the service without interruption for passengers. Times and fares will also remain the same. This contract will run initially for three months whilst the council surveys passengers and considers options for the future provision of the service."

Dolphin Coaches issued notice to terminate the contract with the council to concentrate on their core business of private hire coaching, holidays and day tours.
