New Cashless Car Parking Venture For Bournemouth And Poole

Cashless car parking in Bournemouth Borough Council and Borough of Poole run car parks will change on 1 November.

The two councils are working together using a new framework contract with cashless parking provider Bemrose Mobile, which all councils in Dorset can access.

The new cashless parking service, phoneandpay.co.uk, is easy to use and can be accessed online, via mobile app and by phone.  It will replace the current RingGo service, so those currently registered with RingGo will need to register with the new phoneandpay.co.uk to continue using the cashless car parking service.

Councillor Michael Filer, Bournemouth Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, said, “This new contract offers better value to those who park in our car parks, as the transaction fee for the new service is cheaper at only 8p, and for our residents, as the cost of the service to the Councils is reduced.”

Councillor Xena Dion, Borough of Poole Council’s Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, added, “As Dorset local authorities come to the end of their current cashless car parking provider contracts, they will be able to sign up to this contract. This will make it easier for people to park across Dorset without having to register with multiple providers.”

As an added incentive to sign up for the service, those who register with phoneandpay.co.uk before the new service launches on 1 November, will not pay any transaction fees for their first month of useage.
