Get on your bike with Borough of Poole in 2015

If one of your resolutions for the New Year is to get fit for 2015, Borough of Poole invites you to get on your bike with a series of healthy cycle rides.

Taking place on Tuesday 6 January, 3 February and 3 March at 10.15am, the free one-hour rides will be led by experienced ride leaders, starting at the Civic Centre and following quiet, traffic-free routes around Poole Park, Baiter and Whitecliff parks.

Healthy Cycle Rides 2015

The routes have been chosen to be easy for most people to cycle in an hour, and are aimed at anyone who wants to improve their fitness and confidence in cycling. They are also a great way to meet other people, with the opportunity for participants to socialise with the other group members in one of the cafés in Poole Park at the end of the ride.

Anyone wishing to join the two-wheeled fun can email transportationhelpdesk@poole.gov.uk or call 01202 262000 to book a place. Rides begin at the Civic Centre at 10.15am. And don’t worry if you don’t have access to your own bike, as loan bikes can be reserved when you make your booking.

Cllr Ian Potter, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Borough of Poole, said: “Cycling is a great way to help our residents get fit for the New Year, whilst enjoying some of Poole’s beautiful scenery. The healthy cycle rides are open to everyone, whether you’re an experienced cyclist or haven’t been on a bike since childhood. We hope to see many residents joining us for the first ride in January."
