Young Sherlock Holmes Author Visits Poole Library

[ Zoom ]
Andrew Lane at Poole Library

Fifty students from Poole High School visited Poole Central library on World Book Day to hear local author, Andrew Lane, talk about his Young Sherlock Holmes and Lost Worlds books.

The students heard how Andrew created his characters and storylines and had their questions answered about writing stories and getting published.  The session was rounded off by each student being presented with a copy of one of Andrew’s books as a gift from Poole libraries which he signed for them.

Cllr Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Borough of Poole, said: "Andrew delivered a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting session and the children were thrilled that he signed the books that Poole Library Service kindly gave them. Reading is a fantastic way to spend some free time, and we hope that we will have lots of children coming into Poole libraries to borrow Andrew's books and the many others on offer."
