Taking place over 17/18 May in Poole, various activities are on offer to help you get back into the swing of things.

The weekend is the highlight of the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) summer drive, providing a way for everyone to enjoy free tennis. People of all ages and abilities can attend sessions to play with equipment and take part in coaching, provided for free.

Lots of activities will be on offer including Cardio Tennis – a fitness inspired work out on court – adult social tennis as well as LTA Mini Tennis for three to ten year olds.

Poole Park Tennis Coaching will be providing free session as per their summer programme, including sessions for children, families and adults on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May. Tennis For All will be hosting children’s sessions at Ashdown Leisure Centre in Canford Heath on Sunday morning.

The courts in Poole Park will also be receiving a special visit from Michael Downey the new CEO of the LTA on Saturday 17 May to see the activities on show and the facility as a new fob project.

Cllr Xena Dion, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Borough of Poole, said: "It’s fantastic to have these improved facilities hosting a free event to encourage people to try tennis. The council is very proud and appreciative of the joint work with the LTA that has allowed a sustainable facility to be built in Poole to allow people to play tennis at an affordable cost."
