Certificates presented to successful students

A group of hard-working Borough of Poole employees have successfully achieved a number of qualifications in adult social care. Certificates of achievement were presented to 18 employees at a special celebratory event on Tuesday 31 March 2015.

The qualifications achieved by the employees, who studied whilst also working full-time, included the Health and Social Care Apprenticeship and Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), a programme designed to help newly qualified social workers develop skills, knowledge and professional confidence.

Each member of staff was presented with a certificate by Di Wharam, Service Manager in Borough of Poole’s Adult Social Care Unit. Ms Wharam said: “Congratulations go to everyone who has successfully completed these qualifications. This represents a great deal of commitment by staff, and that they have attained them whilst working full-time is an achievement to be really proud of”.

Borough of Poole’s adult social care staff are encouraged to study for qualifications which will further their careers and lead to a better service for clients.

Ms Wharam continued, “I hope that all staff found this experience inspiring, and will continue to learn throughout their careers so that we can work towards our goal of improving lives for the people in Poole”.

Each year Borough of Poole supports staff to undertake adult social care qualifications.  This year, 14 staff were awarded with Health and Social Care Apprenticeships (Levels 2 and 3) and four staff passed the adult ASYE.
