Poole Libraries celebrate the joy of reading

Amy Mason
World Book Night 2015

Poole Libraries celebrated World Book Night in style last Thursday evening, with a party at Hamworthy Library. Poole-born author Amy Mason entertained over 60 people with readings from her prize-winning debut novel, The Other Ida, and talked about writing plays and fiction.

Two lucky people won a copy of Amy’s book by matching names and faces of authors past and present; and everyone went away with a free book from the book swap table.

Kevin McErlane, Head of Culture and Community Learning, Borough of Poole, said: “World Book Night is our annual celebration of books and reading, and we were delighted to see so many people come along to discuss their favourite books and share the joy of reading.”
