Family Fun at the Beach Festival

Families are invited to try a new sport and have a fun day out at the free Family Beach Festival at Sandbanks.

The Family Beach Festival will be held on Sunday 12 July, 10am-3pm, at the prestigious Sandpolo Arena at Sandbanks. Sports clubs and societies will be offering ‘have a go’ sessions and demonstrations.

Visitors will be able to try a number of sports including golf, martial arts, zumba, skating, frisbee, kayaking, climbing, cycling, handball, table tennis, bowls and slacklining. The event is open to all ages and abilities and with so many sports present, there will be something for everyone.

Cllr Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, Borough of Poole, said: “This is a really good and fun day out for families and people of all ages. It's quite rare to have this opportunity to actually try all these different sports and activities in one place, especially for free. It's great to see such a wide variety of clubs and societies available in Poole and we hope people will support the event, try something new and perhaps find a new hobby.”

Parking can be limited in good weather so families are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event. Buses routes to Sandbanks from Poole are Breezer 50 and Wilts and Dorset 52. Timetables can be found here: http://www.morebus.co.uk/bournemouth-and-poole.shtml.
