Imaginative fun this May with Poole Libraries

Children are in for a treat this May as Poole libraries host a number of fun events designed to spark an interest in books and story telling.

You’re in for a treat if you come to hear about Sir Charlie Stinky Socks’ latest adventure. Author Kristina Stephenson will be on-hand with fabulous props and lively songs. Join in with the fun on Saturday 16 May at Poole Central Library, 2.00-3.00pm. For ages 3-8 years old.

A travelling planetarium is coming to Oakdale Library. Space: The Final Frontier will be at Oakdale Library on Friday 29 May. Booking is essential for this interactive treat, and places are limited. Choose from 10.15am, 11.30am. 2.15pm or 3.30pm.

Do you plan to have a sort out of your books in the holidays? Do you want to exchange your books for different ones? Bring a book you’ve enjoyed and take away someone else’s recommended read. Children’s book swap will take place at all libraries on Saturday 30 May, 10.30am-12pm.

Meet the Cuddle Pirate at Poole Central Library on Saturday 30 May, 3.00-4.00pm. Join the Cuddle Pirate and his crew as they embark on great adventures, discovering tasty healthy food along the way. Free healthy snacks and smoothies too.

There are also lots of activities planned for May half term. To find out more or to book your place at any of the above events, please visit www.poole.gov.uk/libraries, phone 01202 262449 or email libraries@poole.gov.uk.
