Your Borough Of Poole

Have your say on tenancy plans

Residents are invited to have their say on tenancy proposals being put forward by Borough of Poole and Poole Housing Partnership (PHP).
The plans which are being consulted on would see introductory tenancies introduced to new PHP residents when they first move in to their homes.
Introductory tenancies are already used by many social housing landlords. The tenancy is reviewed after 12 months, and providing residents have maintained their property satisfactorily they will gain a secure tenancy.
The proposals would only affect new PHP tenants. Any existing tenants would not be impacted by the proposals.
Cllr Karen Rampton, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, Borough of Poole, said: "Other housing providers have reported seeing a reduction in anti-social behaviour having brought in introductory tenancies. Many social housing landlords have been using this type of tenancy for some time and we hope they will give tenants a better understanding of their responsibilities. We would encourage people, particularly if they think they would like to access our housing stock in the future, to share their views on these proposals."
PHP have produced some questions and answers on the proposals which can be found on their website.
You can submit feedback directly to PHP online or write to Neighbourhood Team, Poole Housing Partnership, Beech House, 28-30 Wimborne Road, Poole, BH15 2BU by Tuesday 10 November 2015.
