Ashley Road Improvements - Consultation

What was the public consultation programme?

From 15 July - 23 August 2013 the Council consulted with residents, businesses and stakeholders about the four proposed improvement schemes to use the £1 million allocated fund for Ashley Road.

The four proposed schemes are believed to make the biggest difference to the road from what people told us during the public engagement exercise.  We also invited comments on a number of other proposed improvement schemes should funding becomes available in the future.

There were many ways people could get involved in the consultation and give their views...

  • They could view the proposals, still available on the right of this page, and complete an on-line feedback form by Friday 23 August 2013.
  • They could view the printed copies of the proposals at Branksome Library, Bookworm Bookshop and Tea rooms (opposite Edward Rd) and the Civic Centre (Planning dept.)
  • They could come to the face-to-face consultation event held at St John's Church hall (opposite Waitrose), Wednesday 24 July 2013, 12.30pm-8.00pm. Our thanks to Co-op and Waitrose for providing free refreshments.
  • They could come to a drop-in session at: Bookworm Bookshop & Tearooms, Wednesday 7 August 10.00am - 2.30pm or Branksome Library, Tuesday 13 Aug 1pm-6pm

2,000 promotional postcards were also distributed to the majority of shops along the length of the road to promote the consultation programme. Shopkeepers each had a small bundle of postcards to display on their counters for customers to pick up.
